Can I reinstall an eSIM?

Updated over 2 months ago

Yes, you can reinstall an "ORA eSIM", but the process depends on whether the profile is still on your device or has been deleted.

Here’s how it works:

1. 📲 If the eSIM Profile Is Still on Your Phone

  • Re-enable Without Reinstalling:

    1. Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data).

    2. Locate the ORA provider plan (e.g., “3HK eSIM” or “Ubigi Global eSIM”).

    3. Tap Enable or Turn On for that profile. 🔛

  • Result: Your eSIM becomes active immediately, no additional QR code or purchase is needed.

2. 🗑️ If You Deleted the eSIM from Your Device

  • Reinstall with a Replacement Card:

    1. Log in to your ORA dashboard and go to “My eSIM Portfolio.”

    2. Find the provider plan you want to reinstall.

    3. Click “Buy Replacement Card” next to that plan. This generates a new QR code.

    4. On your travel device, scan or tap the Replacement Card’s QR code and follow the prompt to Install.

    5. Verify the eSIM profile appears under Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data) by its provider name.

  • Result: Your eSIM will reactivate as soon as you enable Data Roaming in your destination country.

Tip: To avoid buying a Replacement Card, keep your eSIM installed even when not in use. That way, you can simply re-enable or top up the plan later without reinstalling. 🔄
