By default, once you install an ORA eSIM from a specific provider, you cannot reinstall it on another device for free. However, some providers partner with ORA (like 3HK) offer a Replacement Card for a small fee. This lets you move your eSIM plan to a new device. Here’s how it works:
1. 🤔 Understand Your Provider’s Policy
After installation, the original ORA eSIM profile stays tied to that device.
If you want to switch to a new phone, you must purchase a Replacement Card from the original provider (e.g., 3HK Replacement Card).
Not all providers offer Replacement Cards—check your eSIM details in ORA’s dashboard to see if it’s available.
2. 💳 Purchase a Replacement Card
Log in to your ORA dashboard and go to “My eSIM Portfolio.”
Locate the provider plan you originally bought (for example, “3HK eSIM”).
If a Replacement Card is available, you’ll see a “Buy Replacement” or “Replacement Card” button next to that eSIM.
Click “Buy Replacement,” choose the Replacement Card option, and complete payment.
Once purchased, you’ll get a new QR code for your Replacement Card.
3. 📲 Install the Replacement Card on Your New Device
Open the email or ORA account page containing your Replacement Card’s QR code.
On your new phone, simply scan or tap that QR code. When the install prompt appears, tap Install.
The eSIM profile (now updated to a Replacement Card) will appear under Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data) with the same provider name (e.g., “3HK eSIM”).
Make sure Data Roaming is ON for this profile and OFF for any other eSIMs to avoid accidental charges.
4. ✅ Verify Activation & Remove From Old Device
Once installed, the Replacement Card eSIM will automatically activate when you land at your destination with roaming enabled.
To prevent confusion, it’s best to remove the original eSIM from your old device:
On the old phone, go to Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data).
Tap the original provider plan (e.g., “3HK eSIM”) and select Remove Plan (or Delete eSIM).
⚠️ Important: Purchasing a Replacement Card is the only way to reinstall certain ORA provider eSIMs on a new device. You cannot move the original eSIM profile without buying this Replacement Card.
