How to Install the ORA eSIM on Your Android Device (Manual Installation)

Updated over 3 weeks ago

If you need to install your ORA eSIM manually, without scanning a QR code, our dashboard provides all the necessary SM-DP+ and activation details.

Here’s how to proceed:

1. 🔑 Retrieve SM-DP+ & Activation Code

  1. Log in to your ORA account at orasim.io.

  2. Go to “My eSIM Portfolio” and tap the plan you wish to install.

  3. Switch to the “Installation” tab and select “Manual Install.”

  4. Note down (or copy) the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code displayed.

2. ⚙️ Open Android Settings

  1. Tap the Settings app on your Android device.

  2. Select Connections (or Network & Internet, depending on your model).

  3. Tap SIM card manager (or SIMs).

  4. Tap Add mobile plan (or Add eSIM) to begin.

  5. On the “Set up mobile plan” screen, select “Enter details manually” (or a similar option, often below the “Scan QR code” prompt).

  6. Paste the SM-DP+ Address into the first field.

  7. Paste the Activation Code into the second field.

  8. Leave Confirmation Code blank (unless specifically provided).

  9. Follow any on-screen prompts (for example, “Add Carrier”).

  10. When asked to choose data and voice lines:

    1. Ensure the ORA eSIM is set as your Mobile Data line.

    2. Keep your physical SIM as the default for voice/text if you still need that.

  11. Tap Done once the setup finishes. You should now see your ORA provider plan (e.g., “3HK eSIM” or “Ubigi Global eSIM”) under Settings → Connections → SIM card manager.

3. ✈️ Enable Data Roaming Before Departure

  1. Return to Settings → Connections → SIM card manager.

  2. Select your newest ORA eSIM and toggle Data Roaming ON.

  3. Make sure Data Roaming is OFF for any other SIM profiles.

🎒 That’s it! Your ORA eSIM is now installed manually on your Android device and will automatically activate when you land at your destination.
