Can I make phone calls or send SMS messages with the ORA eSIM?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Yes, if you choose an ORA Phone & Text plan, you can make calls and send SMS just like a regular SIM.

šŸ“žāœ‰ļø Here’s how to check and set it up:

  • Check Plan Details
    • On the plan’s detail page, scroll to ā€œTechnical Specificationsā€, you’ll see whether Calls & SMS are included.

  • Data-Only vs. Voice & SMS
    • Most ORA eSIMs are Data-Only (for mobile internet).
    • If your plan lists Calls & SMS under Technical Specifications, it’s a Phone & Text bundle.

  • Setting It Up
    • After installing the eSIM, go to Settings → Cellular (iOS) or SIM card manager (Android).

    • If your ORA eSIM includes calls/SMS, set it as the Default Voice Line.

    • If you keep a physical SIM for local calls, leave that as your default for voice/text and assign ORA only to data.

  • Using It Abroad šŸŒ
    • With a Phone & Text plan, you’ll be reachable on that number anywhere your ORA provider has coverage.
    • Standard international calling/SMS rates apply, check your plan’s Technical Specifications before dialing.

Choose a Data-Only plan if you only need internet, or grab a Phone & Text eSIM for a temporary overseas number, either way, ORA keeps you connected. 😊
