Can I use both an eSIM and a physical SIM with the same number?

Updated over 2 months ago

No, you cannot have the same phone number active on both a physical SIM and an ORA eSIM simultaneously.

Here’s how it works with ORA:

  • One Number per Profile: Each SIM profile (physical or eSIM) supports exactly one phone number. If you move your number onto an ORA-compatible eSIM (voice/SMS plan), the old physical SIM becomes inactive for that number.

  • ORA Voice & SMS Plans: Although many ORA eSIMs are data-only, we also offer plans that include calls and texts. When you select a Phone & Text eSIM from ORA, that number is exclusively tied to that eSIM profile, your physical SIM cannot use the same number at the same time.

  • Separate Lines: To maintain both your home line and a travel line on one device, you’ll need two distinct numbers, one on your physical SIM and one on the ORA eSIM.

In short, each SIM, whether physical or eSIM, carries its own unique number. To use voice and text on an ORA eSIM, choose a Phone & Text plan with its own number. 😊
